How to make a claim

Any claim must be emailed to info@theodorealexander.com, attached with:

  1. Your original order number or proof of purchase;
  2. A detailed description of the alleged defect; and
  3. Clear, high-resolution photographs and/or videos showing the specific defect and the overall condition of the product.

The receipt of a claim email does not constitute an admission of a defect or acceptance of liability by Theodore Alexander.

Company authority & discretion

  • Subjective claims — comfort preferences are subjective and are not classified as manufacturing defects.
  • Final decisions — Theodore Alexander holds sole and final discretion regarding all defect claims (workmanship or materials) and the choice between repair or replacement.

Warranty coverage & repairs

  • Within the warranty period — full coverage includes material components, replacement parts, labour and transportation for verified manufacturing defects.
  • Extended protection — repaired or replaced items are covered only for the remainder of the original warranty period.

Warranty exclusions

This warranty is contingent upon proper care and usage. It does not cover damage resulting from negligence, abuse, normal wear and tear, or accidents. Excluded damages include, but are not limited to:

  • Improper cleaning — use of detergents, abrasives or harsh cleaning agents.
  • Physical damage — cuts, scratches, tears, scuffs, indentations or pet damage.
  • Environmental & accidents — burns or watermarks.
  • Unauthorised usage — the product is used outdoors, unless explicitly specified otherwise.
  • Modifications — any product modification made by the consumer or unauthorised third parties.
  • Purchase status — items purchased “AS-IS” or as floor / display models.
  • Unauthorised channels — the product was not purchased directly from Theodore Alexander.

Warranty period

At Theodore Alexander, exceptional quality is our utmost priority. Every piece undergoes stringent in-house quality inspections to ensure long-lasting durability. The table below sets out the specific warranty coverage periods:

Upholstery — frame structure5 yearsOther components (foam, fibre fillings, feathers, stitching, zips, fasteners, springs, suspensions, legs, sliders, drawers and movable mechanisms such as swivel bases and reclining mechanisms) carry a 2-year limited warranty.
Upholstery covers (sewn fabric)1 yearCovers seam failure, manufacturing defects and zipper / foam collapse. Excludes normal wear, pilling and stains.
Leather (aniline / top-grain)3 yearsCovers delamination, stitching failure and manufacturer defects. Does not cover patina, colour variation, scratches, or wear from pets or accidents.
Metal / aluminium (handles, frames, legs)2 yearsCovers breakage and weld failure. Excludes corrosion from improper maintenance or abrasives.
Marble / natural stone / solid surface3 yearsCovers manufacturing defects such as cracks on delivery. Excludes natural veining, hairline fissures, etching, acid stains and installation impacts.
Finish & coating (paint, lacquer, veneer)1–2 yearsCovers peeling and major flaking due to defects. Excludes normal surface wear, scratches and UV fade.

After the warranty period

For defects detected after expiration, the purchaser is responsible for all costs, including parts, labour and transportation.
